“The proposed protected bike lanes will increase safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers,” said Corey Kline, a spokesperson for the District Department of Transportation. “We believe this project will enhance the overall transportation infrastructure in Adams Morgan.”

However, the Adams Morgan Neighborhood Association opposes the plan for protected bike lanes.

“We are concerned that the protected bike lanes will decrease parking options for local residents and businesses,” said Mary Johnson, a representative for the association. “We urge DDOT to reconsider this proposal and consider alternative solutions that prioritize the needs of the community.”
