A woman was hit and killed by a car while crossing the street in Northwest DC. The incident occurred at around 9:30 pm on Monday night near the intersection of Galena Pl and Georgia Ave in the Brightwood Park neighborhood. The victim, accompanied by another pedestrian, was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
